Materials for the Arts expands the resources available for creative activities in New York City by facilitating reuse. We collect unneeded items from businesses and individuals, and make these donations available for free to our recipients: nonprofit organizations with arts programming, government agencies, and public schools.

The MFTA warehouse is operated by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs with support from the City’s Department of Sanitation and Department of Education.

Friends of MFTA is the official nonprofit partner of Materials for the Arts.
