Back to work

MFTA is so fortunate to report that our LIC warehouse was unaffected by the storm. We are up and running. Our staff hails from all corners of the tri-state area, including all corners of Queens, Staten Island, The Bronx, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. Everyone has been affected differently and we are all working to support one another while also maintaining our commitment to carrying out our mission.

While our services are back up and running, please bear with us as we catch up on a back-log of scheduled pick-ups, a shortage of gas, longer commute times for some of our staff, and the emotional toll the storm has taken on us all. PLEASE NOTE: We will continue to accept donations that serve our arts community and schools but we cannot accept personal care products, diapers, food or blankets.

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has asked us to share with you to please refrain from dropping off donations of materials at NYC shelters and sheltering sites.  They are unable to process them.  The best way to help your fellow citizens in need is to make a cash contribution to a number of charities assisting in disaster relief, and to roll up your sleeves and partner with any number of organizations sending people on the ground where your hands and hearts are most needed.

We’d like to thank the MFTA nation for your support and patience as we navigate this time of uncertainty. For those who are able to, we encourage you to help our beloved city’s recovery process in any way you can. We are in this together and we can get through it.
