Teachers: Stock up for back to school season-everything’s free at MFTA!

Jan McCray, assistant principal at the High School for Art and Design, adds art prints to her shopping cart.  She said teachers could use the photographs and paintings as inspiration for their students, or turn the poster over and use it as a canvas for their presentations and artwork.

Materials for the Arts collects unneeded items from businesses and individuals, and distributes these donations free of charge to nonprofit organizations with arts programming, government agencies, and public schools across the five boroughs.

Teachers: Ask your principal to add you to your school’s employee list for Materials for the Arts. Your principal should log into MFTA.org with his or her password then click employees in the right hand menu to add you to the list as a school representative.

Principals: Need a password? Request one with your schools.nyc.gov email address.

Please contact MFTA at 718-729-2165 or education@mfta.nyc.gov with questions.
