Tapestry fun at Astoria Park!

Under the beautiful sunny skies of Queens, against the backdrop of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge (aka the Triborough), and the energy of an enthusiastic crowd, MFTA had a blast during the Astoria Park Shore Fest this past Sunday, August 5.

The picture was the tapestry in progress–it looked great at the end of the day! Image: Haydee Naula

Thanks to Astoria Park Alliance, MFTA Teaching Artist Chase Carlisle was able to lead the project and encourage participants to be creative and resourceful. Through the efforts of many busy hands, a beautiful tapestry was created using ribbons, cloth, yarn, thread, paper, and other materials that were donated to MFTA. Check out the pictures in the slideshow below to see all the fun that was had! Thanks once again to the Astoria Park Alliance!
