Macy’s and MFTA: Partners in time

This Tuesday we opened up our warehouse to 17 college interns from Macy’s, as a part of their Intern Give Back Day. The day is part of Macy’s Partners in Time program, which coordinates year-round volunteering opportunities for the company’s staff, from food drives to special community service days like Intern Give Back Day. This was the summer intern program’s second visit to MFTA – you can read about last year’s volunteer day here. Following a brief orientation and tour of the warehouse, the interns rolled up their sleeves and got to work. They split up into small groups and worked together to stock the paint room, fill the paper room’s bookshelves with dozens of new books, and restock and organize our fabric section. I know our recipients will appreciate the replenished selections of paint, books, and fabric during shopping hours this afternoon.

If you are an internship coordinator and are looking to organize a similar community service day, please contact Elizabeth Masella. We would be happy to have you!
