While a lot of people may consider Friday the Thirteenth to be an unlucky day – at MFTA, we don’t subscribe to those superstitions. In fact, last Friday, July 13, was a lucky day as we were joined in Long Island City by our colleagues from the Department of Cultural Affairs. The entire staff came together for a day of community service at the MFTA warehouse. After rolling up their sleeves and completing lots of physical tasks including stocking (heavy) bolts of fabric and organizing the paint room, everyone collaborated on a mosaic. We really enjoyed the day and our colleagues from the Cultural Affairs office on Chambers Street had the opportunity to see, first hand, what a day in the warehouse is like. Thanks to all who participated for helping us accomplish a huge amount of work, and for creating a lovely collaborative artwork.
