Paying it forward in Staten Island

These photos were sent by Wynter, an art teacher from Tottenville High School in Staten Island. She used fabric, buttons, and other materials from the warehouse to make bags, accessories, and hand puppets with her students. In her words, her “fashion class would not exist” without MFTA and the support of our generous donors. Her students in her fashion and sewing classes were so proud of their work that they donated their adorable hand puppets to a local pre school. I’m glad these materials were able to be used as a teaching tool, then re-donated to be used as puppets. The very essence of reuse!
