More impressive work was sent over from Angela of Dicapo Opera Theatre, this time of their production of Sarka. This opera is about a woman warrior in the 9th Century in Eastern Europe. She fights the king’s army successfully until she falls in love with the leader of the army. They know this could never be unless she gives up her women warriors. He gets killed in a fight with the women and in her grief, Sarka throws herself on his funeral pyre and burns to death. Finally, in death they are united.

As always, the costumes and set are wonderful. For a list of upcoming performances by the company, be sure to check here.
