Dicapo pigs

Angela from the wonderful Dicapo Opera Theatre sent over some photos from a production in 2004 that used fabric and other items from MFTA. The piece is an opera ballet called Gloria, a Pig’s Tale that was done in cooperation with the Connecticut Ballet Company. The work is about a young pig, Gloria, who falls in love with a beautiful young pig prince. Her uncle tries to get her away from him by shutting her away. Taunted by other pigs and treated badly by her uncle, love nevertheless triumphs when her loved one rescues her (spoilers). The costumes and scenery look great, and the pig masks are a real delight. They also remind me of a recent donation that included this “dicapotated” pig mask.
