The Medium of Reuse

Lynne Hayden-Findlay from Chelsea Opera sent over this great picture of their recent production, The Medium by Gian Carlo Menotti. Fabric from MFTA was used for the puppet theater, the portal hole wall, and the ghostly figure. The figure sits behind a large scrim obtained several years ago from our warehouse that is still used regularly. They’ve also upcycled a floor lamp and lampshade using trim from the warehouse, which is one of the greatest parts of coming here: even if you have a specific need, you can make it work with the vast materials at your disposal. As the company did, if you are in need of an elegant lamp, you can take any lamp from the warehouse and upcycle it with trim, notion, and craft items. The set was designed by Joshua Rose, and lights by Michael Megliola. To view wonderful examples of reuse and wonderful performances, please see their upcoming shows.
