Late hours and school workshops thanks to Macy’s

A parent and child in a puppet making workshop.

Aside from the wonderful donation of holiday ornaments and decorations this year, Macy’s has helped underwrite late-night shopping in 2012. Grants and donations to FOMA help us stay open late every Thursday and the first Monday of each month to allow artists and teachers to come to MFTA after work and school. The grant from Macy’s will also sponsor family art nights at local Queens schools. These art nights bring about 50 families together in reuse workshops by our teaching artists. Teachers, parents, and siblings come together to learn how to make art using materials found around the home. Some examples include book making, puppet making, and mask making.

Once again, thank you to Macy’s for your contribution. The arts and school communities in New York City appreciate your support.
