Cool costumes from VIA Dance Collaborative

Liz from VIA Dance Collaborative sent over these photos of costumes she made with items from the warehouse. They look much better on the mannequins than in our bins. I especially love the use of non-traditional materials.

The organization is presenting new work beginning next Thursday, December 15. Dawn Poirier’s Plus X threads together time and various love stories, highlighting the compartmentalization of (internal) ruminations and (external) affairs. Katie Swords’ new work examines the inner workings of self-perception and the desperate things we do to feel a part of something “bigger” than ourselves. Adrienne Westwood’s new duet attempts an embodied investigation of simulacra, and it centers around the two dancers and 16 hand-crank music boxes, sewn into their clothing.

Very intriguing. For tickets, please check here.
