Make puppets this weekend at Society of Illustrators

This Saturday, December 3, at 1pm, we will be hosting a puppet making workshop with Melissa Sweet at Society of Illustrators, a recipient and donor organization. Participants will learn how to make puppets by reusing the kinds of materials commonly found around the house. MFTA teaching artist Pamela Isaac will lead participants in using wire, buttons, beads, and more to create puppets that are both functional and beautifully decorative. In addition, artist Melissa Sweet will discuss the story of Tony Sarg and the 3-D collage techniques involved in making her new book Balloons over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy’s Parade. To RSVP for the event, please check here.
