Gallery Sneak Peek: Offerings at the “Shrine” to creative reuse

Jesper Aabille and Georgia Muenster of MFTA recipient Flux Factory, created Shrine as an homage to creative reuse. The detail image above shows the variety of offerings at the shrine, which represent the diversity of objects that can be found at MFTA.

Aabille and Muenster’s Shrine is on view at M.F.T.A. Gallery for Creative Reuse in New York City, an exhibition featuring artwork by three of MFTA recipients: Flux Factory, Local Project, and Free Style Arts Association, as well as work by MFTA teaching artists and education workshop participants.

Opening Reception: We invite you to join the artists and representatives from their host organizations at M.F.T.A. Gallery for an opening reception and artists’ panel, from 6-9 pm on Thursday, December 1. Drinks and light snacks will be provided and Carolina Peñafiel will DJ.

Creative Reuse in New York City is on view at M.F.T.A. Gallery, 33-00 Northern Boulevard, Long Island City, through February 29, 2012.
