Fake marble at Socrates Sculpture Park

John, the director of our Education Center, took this photo over the weekend at member organization Socrates Sculpture Park. The work, entitled “Marbelous,” is by artist Hong Seon Jang who used quite a number of tables and desks from the warehouse taken over the course of a few weeks. I became accustomed to checking in Jang, who came with the mindset of seeing what we had before making any decisions with the project. This is definitely the way to shop at MFTA. Come for the free stuff as well as the inspiration for what to do with it. It definitely worked here.

The work is part of the park’s Emerging Artist’s Fellowship Exhibition and runs from now until March 4, 2012. That doesn’t mean to delay, however, for there is a free presentation and discussion on the exhibition on Sunday, September 25 at 3PM.
