Give yourself and your students a fresh perspective on learning: Attend MFTA’s professional development workshop, “Artistic Reuse to the (Common) Core,” on June 9, 2011 for the city-wide staff development day. The workshop focuses on teaching the Common Core Standards through making art. Best of all,  MFTA techniques make use of materials many people are already throwing away, so you can bring art projects into your classroom with little or no cost. The workshop includes instructor-led demonstrations and plenty of hands-on studio time where participants can develop ideas for their specific teaching setting. Let yourself and your students join the ranks of Jim Dine (above) and other artists who explore reuse, MFTA will show you how on June 9.

Artistic Reuse to the (Common) Core,” 9:30 am – 3:30 pm, June 9, 2011, a PD workshop for the Chancellor’s Conference Day meets at Materials for the Arts. For more information or to sign up, click here or call 718-729-2165.
