Teachers: You can earn P Credits while having a blast making art in the MFTA studios. It’s not too late to sign up for the Raw Fibers P Credit course that starts this Saturday, April 9th.
The batik technique is traditionally done with a tjanting (examples from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston are shown below). During the Raw Fibers P Credit course you will learn to improvise tools for batik using easy-to-find and often free materials.
Teachers, enroll for credit through the New York City After School Professional Development Program. This course is open to the public, those not affiliated with the DOE or who wish to enroll in the course as a non-credit participant may do so here.
Please call John Kaiser at 718-729-2165 for questions regarding Raw Fibers.
