US State Department will donate holiday decorations to MFTA

We are thrilled that the US Department of State will donate this year’s holiday decorations from the Diplomatic Reception Rooms to Materials for the Arts.

Holiday decorations from the State Department

David Stark of David Stark Design and Ariel Foxman of InStyle magazine collaborated on the 2010 holiday decorations.  According to the State Department media note “Everyday materials were used to transform the space in significant ways, including trees made of over four miles of red ribbon, a grand archway made of glittering gift boxes, and a tree carved of mirror.”

On behalf of over 4,000 recipient organizations which benefit from donated supplies like these, MFTA thanks the US Department of State, David Stark Design, InStyle magazine and Time Inc. for their donation.

A special thanks to David Stark who sends many fantastic donations our way.
