NYU Dance Educators @ MFTA

Grad Students from the NYU Dance Education Program try on their new creations!

Yesterday, Materials for the Arts hosted students from the NYU Dance Education Masters Program. Students learned how to make “no-sew” projects, including a stretch jersey skirt, a tunic, and a laced skirt. As the name would imply, “no-sew” projects do not require a sewing machine or even a needle and thread. The skills they learned at MFTA will help them to create costumes easily on a budget. Many of these students will pursue their certification to teach dance in the NYC Public Schools, so their future students will benefit from their savvy wardrobe skills as well as their happy dancing feet! Great job future dance teachers of America! We hope to see them all shopping in the warehouse soon.
